Just got back from Eastern States and I want to say from limited experience it was an excellent rally. The campground was nice, the food was very good, the presentations were good, and, of course, the people were the best.
A few notes for those who weren't there.... you missed out on the pleasure of 24 hour mating calls of the resident peacocks. That's something you don't get to hear all day. Also, you missed the fun of feeding a bunch of goats. Fortunately I have pictures of my wife and daughter doing it for anyone who feels left out. I didn't see anyone take advantage of the pony rides, but I'm sure that would have been entertaining as well. Nelson came the closest to riding the ponies by driving around in his smart car (just kidding). The food provided by the organizers and the KOA was excellent and the organization was, of course, outstanding.
You also missed out on a small monsoon, but nothing compared to Dothan last year. The presentations included a single-cone airbag solution for our GMCs by the Frady's, a polished presentation that really showed the benefits of ES review process, an interesting look at one of the most expensive GMCs I've ever seen, a peak into the world of Dr. Oldsmobile and what can really be done to squeeze every drop of performance from our 455 and 403 engines, and a fun presentation from Mac McNeal who showed off his dashes and was very entertaining.
Thanks to the organizers and it was a pleasure to meet so many GMCers along the road once again. Hopefully my wife, daughter, and I will be catching up with many of you in the near future. Unfortunately, due to an invasion of relatives, it won't be at Bean Station. All the best and I hope everyone gets home safely.
Thanks,
