Hi all,

My 10 year old daughter informed me earlier tonight that she noticed a GMC in someone's driveway while she was riding the bus this morning. So, after dinner, we retraced her bus' route and found the GMC! It's a '77 Royale. It just so happened that the owner was outside talking with a buddy when we ambushed him. His name is Jeff and he's a great guy with a family who loves to camp. He's owned several campers and motorhomes but this is his first GMC. We showed him a picture of ours and he just so happened to walk through it at the Ford Employee Car Show last year! He spoke with my wife then about it!

I gave Jeff BDUB's supplier link website with all the hotlinks and passed on the GMCNet address as well as the photosite. Finally, I recommended Jim K (Applied's website), Jim Bounds (Co-Op website), and Jeff Sirum (Alex Sirum website).

I have to get back with him with our mechanic's number, so I'll also pass along Dave Greenberg's Registry site and the GMCMI website.

Please let me know if I forgot something useful to pass on to him!

Finally, he informed me of ANOTHER GMC 1/4 mile away from me! That's 3 within 1 mile of eachother which I think is pretty cool. I'm planning on ambushing the other owner on a bike ride soon.

Send him up to Novi on the 2nd of May. He might be interested in watching the Bearing R&R I'm going to try to attempt.

Ken,

Your use of the word "attempt" indicates to me that you might be suffering
some angst about this job.

Trust me it is NOT rocket science; been there, done that!

Since the bearings on your GMC have not failed it should be straight
forward. As long as you have the GMC Maintenance Manual, the bearing tool,
and the procedure below you will do fine.

With contributors to this list around the world you can pretty much get help
any time of the day or night! ;-)

I ain't skeeeerd... Laughing

I say "attempt" because the way my luck goes I'll get it apart and find it needs everything and have to stop and wait for parts.

Hopefully all it neads is grease. Keep your fingers crossed. Very Happy
