I got to meet and have a long conversation this morning with Nelson Seakord (sp?) of Michigan. He is retired Chrysler guy. He and his wife have the '77 Eleganza that they have with them today, as well as a Palm Beach back home.

I always recommend this park for visitors to the Branson area. They are enjoying it, especially, since it has a laundry in the shower room. They are like me, they like State Parks.

We had a great visit. I am here in my houseboat, like I am every Friday, and I always walk my dog in the morning. I caught up with them at the shower building, sitting outside reading.

Looks like a nice place to stay while visiting Branson. I'd like to

Steve, with the improved roads in and out of Branson, this park, which is about 2 miles south of the Table Rock Dam, is just a few minutes from the "strip". You can go the back way to Branson Landing, the new development along Lake Taneycomo (old downtown Branson) OR you can go across the dam and be on the "mid strip" in about 8 minutes, OR you can connect with 76 WEST of town (near Silver Dollar City) and hit the strip from the west. If you do stop, unless I am at an airshow or somewhere else....I will find you on my "dog walk".

My wife is already playing with the map program. she doesn't like the
thought of all the rain running if we chose the Pacific coast. Rain
and two dogs can really mess up a coach.

Larry,
Looks like a nice place to stay while visiting Branson. I'd like to
add that trip to our upcoming road trip.

Table Rock State Park is a really nice State Park and it's proximity to Branson is a big plus. Margie and I have gone down there a few times just for a couple days outing - lots to do. For us, it takes just about 45 minutes to get there.

Anyone considering a trip to the Branson area might also want to be aware of the Corps of Engineer Parks around Table Rock Lake. There are about 14 Corps parks some fairly close to Branson and others on the other side of the lake. With the National Parks Senior Pass (the old Golden Eagle Pass), the Corps parks are half price at around $9.00 a night. Many of the Corps parks around the Lake have recently been refurbished and are in excellent shape. They have water and electric hookups and provide showers.
