There is a misconception that you must replace
bearings every 25,000 miles. Unless your bearing
show some sign of wear or gaul you do not need
to replace them. Just clean and grease. While doing
this it is a good idea to check hub and knuckle
dimensions as these do wear.

Bob, I am with Charles, don't mess with them unless you know they are bad.
I would only order from Jim K. to make sure I got the correct ones, and seals. He has the correct Timken stuff that Dave Lenzi uses. Or, I'd think about sending them to Dave and let him do them.

Charles,

I just with through this whole front wheel bearing thing last spring. If you don't know the current status of your bearing, ie know for sure they have been serviced properly and at the proper intervals I can almost guarantee you will have some serious issues with your hubs/knuckles. Plus if they are not done correctly they will not last. I had this same problem. Last spring I attended a "work rally" with the intention of replacing my bearings. Needless to say I had found major issues with my hubs/bearing/knuckles. With advice from people on this very forum I sent my hubs/Knuckles to Dave Lenzi. He does an amazing job and is extremely attentive to details. Plus he adds a zerk fitting which allows the greasing of the bearings WITHOUT removing them! That alone is well worth sending them to Dave.
