Looking to get my tires/wheels balanced. Have seen mentioned using a bag?
What is recommended or suggested?

Richard,
Crosman Soft Air pellets, 6mm, at Wally World - about $5 for a plastic jar of thousands.
I used 4oz in each tire when we went from the old 16.5" to new 16" Eagles. That was a few thousand miles ago and they're still smooth as glass.
Sounds good to me, I'll try it.

I have heard of several people doing that. I just wish they were smaller diameter so I could get them in the valve stem without having to break the tire down.
I have never tried them. I use Equal in mine.

i tried that but my tires were more than 4 oz. out so it didn't work.
i've heard that the tires have to balance themselves after every stop so when you start off the wheels bounce a bit. have any of you experienced that?

It's been said here on the net that if your tires are more than, in this case, 4oz out of balance, you should be looking for new tires.

How much out of balance might a tire be before
you notice it?
When you say 4oz out, was this checked on a machine?

I used http://www.innovativebalancing.com Dyna Beads 6oz per tire.
On order page they have 6 pack dually with filtered valve cores. These beads can be put in through the valve stem, you take out the valve core and with bottle and tube (applicator)vibrate them into tire and re-inflate. I used a little "mouse" sander to vibrate the stem and really got the beads in a lot faster otherwise they tend to plug up if you put in too fast.
The results... smooth and no 60 mph vibration bounce I could not get rid of otherwise.

I also have never noticed it using Equal. I'm not saying Equal is any better than Conteract or John's Walmart - Crossman ammunition. I just happened to get it for free so I used Equal.

Richard,
Discount tire has a "match" balancing method where the wheel is spun
first, then the tire installed and the wheel and tire spun. The
machine will then indicate where the high spot on the tire needs to be
in relationship to the wheel. I've done this before and one tire only
tool .500 oz to balance it. I believe the counteract packets for our
application are 12 oz. 4 oz out of bal doesn't sound like too much to
me.

from....maybe 12 ouncers.
