I am looking at a 23ft GMC MH and was wondering if anybody had a picture of what the table looks would look like when broken down as used as a double bed (table behind the front seats). I am a rather tall person, 6ft2in, and I just won't fit with my wife in the back end. You can send a picture to my email, iceref63@bellsouth.net. Thanks in advance.

IceRef,
I don't have any pictures posted and the one I will probably not answer your questions. I could take some and get some measurements, if that might be of assistance.

IceRef,

What year and model?

The dinette is constructed differently depending on year and model. 1973 and 74's where made of wood with cushions. (This includes both the 23 and 26 foot coaches.) The backs of the seats make it feel like you are sleeping in a box. Tall head and foot boards. (Plus the wall on the 3rd side.) Most of the later year coaches, have automotive style seating (metal frame and springs with foam) that fold down into beds. These do not have the "head and foot boards," giving you a little more room.

I know there are pictures of dinettes "in bed configuration" around somewhere... I haven't been able to find any. These are not very good pictures but these might help you:

I measured between the head and foot board on my 23 foot coach
and the total distance is 72 inches. If you bend your knees a little
you will fit. I didn't take a diagonal measurement because the bed
is very narrow. Do you still need pictures. Mike Millers 73 pictures
show a dinette table in a 26 foot coach on the right side looking
forward. They were the same length in both the 23 and 26 foot
coaches. Just located in a different spot.

Found a picture of a "newer type" dinette in "bed mode." (Note it is showing an extension to widen the bed.)

Iceref, I had the same problems because of my height. With the rear couches replaced with a thick pillowtop mattress the top is level with the drivers side side wall and will allow a pillow to be placed on top of it giving you more legroom. My wife and I take turns sleeping in the bed or the front couch which I have completely reworked. It now will slide in and out and one half of the bunk bed cushion has been removed. By adding to the length of the bunk support arms it will now drop down in the hole between the wall and the couch making it into a nice bed. If I sleep with my head by the kitchen sink cabinet it is now long enough for my 6ft 3 in. If you need pictures I will be glad to take soome for you.
