I nominate Dan for convention manager.

He is the undisputed GMCMI cheerleader.
He and Teri travel everywhere anyway-might as well get paid for it.
He knows half the folks in GMCMI.
He gets along well with the board members.
He responds to issues quickly.
He has endured the GMC M/H meltdown far from home so he understands how to deal with complex situations.
He has a heart for vendors.
He is well known among GMCers in GMCMI.
His enthusiasm can't help but bring in new members.
His wife is energetic, perky, intelligent, helpful, competent and always gets the job done no matter what.

Any challengers???

However, nominations from the GMCnet doesn't count. People who are
interested in the job have been requested to apply months ago.

I agree that Dan & Teri would be great and they were encouraged to
apply but they decided they didn't want the job.

Having done it for 8 conventions I can attest to the fact that it's a
lot of work and time.

We have three strong applicants and the committee is already in the
process of interviewing them. A decision will be made soon and
presented to GMCMI members for approval

Thank you Michael. I find that you are an extremely kind hearted individual. Folks like you make my "cheerleading" worth it all. That is pretty much what I do, cheerlead. Teri is the backbone to my personality and the best friend I have ever had.
Maybe one of these days we can do more but right now we have our hands full.

Nice pics Dan.
We're in Kerville for the night. Just go back to the coach after a 3
hour jam session. 5 guitars, one mandolin. Everyone took a turn
singing a song and the rest of us just sort of joined in playing
backup. Glad there were so many people there as the list of songs I
can sing without a cheat sheet is pretty darn short.
