Well, I finally got everything cleaned up, the leaks stopped (even the oil
filter was leaking!), the engine hatch cover raised, and my courage up for
the test drive. Made it about 1 foot before I got scared out of my wits by
a big scraping noise -- only when moving forward. Out & under didn't help
any. Finally got to the end of the driveway but only to pull right back
down to the shop -- scraping with the slightest acceleration.
I knew I had more fan clearance from the shroud at the bottom than the top,
but thought the 3/8" or so at top would be OK -- Nope. Even a tiny bit of
acceleration let the fan touch the top of the Jenkins shroud. I don't
expect much trouble correcting the problem tomorrow. Then there will
probably be another Gotcha. :-(
Texas or Bust? (Bust what??? -- I'm beginning to wonder.)
Ken H.

We're all pulling for you Ken!
If the engine swap went anything like your electric windshield wiper conversion, everything should work out great!
Hope tomorrow is a success story.
