Is there a factory part number for the brake booster?  What vehicles other than the GMC was it fitted to? If mine quits somewhere & I need to fit one from a salvage yard to get home, I'd sure like to know that one can be found rather than try to drive home without it...

Sir: Brake boosters are not really something you would want (or could find) to replace out of a junk yard. Good chance they would work for a short while then fail as any diaphram product that has sat for a while. If I was worried about it I would get one of Jim Bs sensitized NEW one and carry the one you got as a spare. Some times when something is on your mind it is for a reason. I did find this tho. Hope you are doing well..

We do not have very many defects on these.
We stock several, plus we have been known to take it off my coach and
ship it the sane day to people.
Only spare parts I carry is the Onan rectifier and distributor module
and one belt. I do carry phone # of suppliers and part exchange..

Steve, I have a spy in Jim's shop. He is mighty close. It is running. I have no doubts this time. Grace and Teri both should be great good luck charms. Now, on the way home, Jim is on his own. We are taking Grace to the airport for return trip. Teri and I will be heading to La. from Montgomery.
