No, but many members that I have spoken with have said that they would
not travel very far for only a 3 day convention. Many like to come in
2 or 3 days early and actually be there for 8 or 9 days. They
apparently justify the cost and time of travel easier than they would
for a 3 day convention.

Also for a short convention many of our costs would be the same as for
a 6 day convention - such as the Convention Manager compensation and
shipping of our equipment, building rental, etc.
So, if we were to do a 3 day convention we likely would have to make a
lot of changes in the way we would do a convention. Is that what
members would like? Probably not but that is something that would be
decided by our board as directed by the members they represent.

I would probably not drive 3000 or 4000 miles round trip (it was even
more than that for me to go to Harrington, Del) to go to a three day
convention. I am sure that many others would feel the same so I
suspect that only people within a one or two day drive would attend
and that would severely limit the number of people attending.

An alternative would be to remain after the FMCA convention is over
and continue on with the GMCMI convention.

Teri and I find that it is now about visiting with our friends. At the first couple of conventions we were just overwhelmed, or I was, looking at all of the GMC coaches. Now, we look to see if the door is open and whether or not our friends are "home". It takes 6 days to take it all in and visit. 3 days would not cover what we like to do. Plus, that would severly cut down on our ice cream eating.

Bet we could come early or stay late or something.  Maybe we could offer to help FMCA set up.  We could really be a help to them!  We could get in all that has made the GMCMI get tohgehters what we are accostomed to but also have FMCA there too!

It really is a pile of work organizing a big rally-- as Emery and Michele roll their eyes!  It did take years to bring our club to where we recognize things and it would not be easy or good to change things that much.  Yes, a week is a good thing,
