Charter is once again blocking GMCnet traffic as spam. Since this is a
recurring issue on about a 6 month frequency and their remediation process
is a royal pita, I've decided that I can no longer support Charter as an
ISP. I would suggest that those using Charter find another ISP or use a
gmail or yahoo account for GMCnet.
I realize that this email will likely not reach those affected, but
hopefully they'll pick it up on the forum...

Thanks for trying Matt! It's not unusual for GMCnet to get tagged as spam
due to the large volume of email the server produces. Most ISPs have a
pretty good remediation system - fill out a form with IP address, contact
info, etc. and within 24 hours the ban is lifted.
Charter's system is more difficult than that, involving resending(not
forwarding) the entire blocked message including headers to a specific
address. Not quite as easy as it sounds with Mailman. Even so, if I only
had to do it once, then I could live with it. Every six months - no thank
you.
I hate making life difficult for you guys on Charter, but I've reached the
end of my rope with them...

Well Patrick,
I'm going to try to grab that better end and heave on it a while more.
Is there some way I can load two @ddresses so I can see if I have any success?

Hi Matt
Gmail has a setting to leave messages on the server when you are using a POP
client to read your mail, I think that should also allow messages to be read
by another POP email client.
Gmail also supports IMAP which should work even better than POP.
The settings are on the Gmail 'Settings' page under the 'Forwarding and
POP/IMAP' tab. They provide a nicely done configuration guide for Outlook
and Outlook Express as well as a few others.
Good luck

Sure, there's no limit to the number of subscribed addresses that you can
use with Mailman.

Be real careful using gmail for all of your uses. It is OK for receiving mail but sending is a different story. My ISP blocks all gmail originated mail as SPAM. They are a well recognized SPAM provider. I had to submit a request to my ISP to allow several gmail users (including Ken H.) to be accepted and passed to me.

Dave,
I found and configured that long ago, but for some reason I still cannot fathom, when a message has been read by one of the machines, it can never be read (downloaded) by the other. The message can only be read by the first machine to read it. It does remain on the G-mail server.
Now I Know I don't know....
I just went and looked at the settings again and all of a sudden all the stuff still waiting on the G-mail server got picked up by my mail client (not ever again will that be Outlook).
But I still need to get away from the G-mail problem.
