This must be a bit old, that is a real young looking james may.
Since Gm is coming out with the hybred Chevy Volt, I can only think that the hy wire is either on the shelf or hidden away with allthe othergood ideas that they did a poor job producing a good idea. There are quite a few.
The chevy Volt as you know is battery operated and when you have used enough power to travel 60 miles ( the number keeps getting smaller ) then the gas generator starts to power the motor and charge the battery. if you stay below 60 miles and charge the battery when you get home you will never use the genertor.
And for those comments about powering the GMC MotorHome, We cannot store the amount of batteries todays technogy has to offer. maybe one of those mini reactors might work....
LarC ( Nice looking Hy Wire, too heavy for a toad though, those batteries are heavy )

GOOD POST HOWARD !! I'm feeling the same way.....
It's actually a nice day in Wis, still cold but really sunny......I ran over to my coach at the storage yard at lunch today and just sat in it.....I can't wait to fire it up and get it out on the road again.
There is one thing I really like about winter...... NOTHING !!
Have a great day !!!

Judging from the problems we had with the computer on our Kenworth, and Toyota is having with their computers (whether they are willing to accept this fact or not), I,m having second thoughts with anything that drives or flies 'by wire'. What is going to happen to all of this sophistication when someone explodes a 'dirty bomb' or we have massive solar flares and all of this electronic 'stuff'' is rendered useless?
The only thing left running in my yard would be my 1952 International and my coach, after I replaced the electronic ignition with that of mechanical. Perhaps the sky is falling. Maybe it's just my day to be a grump. A little Australian sunshine might help. Damn, I'm tired of winter!

Hey Ray, ...thank you! Did that yesterday!  Fired up the house furnace and everything. Just sat there an listened to everything run. I'm ready!
