G'day,

Whoever installed Caddy brakes on Double Trouble installed a P-30 Master
Cylinder. To lengthen the pushrod that goes between the booster and the
master cylinder they epoxied a small nut on the end. I want to make one that
is the correct length and was wondering if anyone has a drawing.

I checked Gene's website but couldn't find any info specifically about the
pushrod.

PLEASE don't tell me it has to be X inches longer than the stock one as I
don't know how long the stock one is! Nor do I want to disassemble The Blue
Streak to find out!

Thanks,
Rob Mueller

Rob,

Why don't you contact Leigh Harrison to get one. I know he supplies them
when you buy a P30 master cylinder from him.

JR,

Thanks, I noticed that when I was looking at Leigh's sensitized booster with
two check valves in it but since I have a metal lathe in my workshop I
figured I can make one for twice nothing.

Gene,

Nope I missed the chart somehow!

Thanks!

Reference the chart and the photo:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=11290

I need to make a rod 2.469 inches + 0.10 inches long and 0.366 inches in
diameter. Flat on the end that goes into the booster and domed on the end
that goes into the master cylinder.

Piece of cake!

Rob,

You're knowledgeable enough to figure it out for yourself, but just in case:
Don't accept that rod lenght as gospel. Check for yourself that it does
not cause the MC piston to be moved, closing the bleed port, and causing
dragging brakes. Similarly, be sure it's long enough to eliminate excessive
free play in the pedal. A test assembly with a bit of modelling clay on the
tip of the rod is one way, but you can probably figure a better test.
