Yes it is paved all the way to the top.
didn't drive our GMC to the top, but rode all the way down on a bicycle.

Not quite the same as my 40 yo daughter's trip last year: Her management
advisory team at Chick-fil A climbed it -- on foot -- one of those corporate
binding/confidence building things (like the Geico Lizard). Fortunately,
she didn't invite me to accompany them. :-) (Oh yeah, they trained for
about 4 months before hand.)
