I have a 26','76 Palm Beach, side wet-bath, and the toilet leaks. The toilet is a Traveler by SeaLand Technology, and is not the same as listed in the original manauals that I have, so I have no documentation on repairing it. I've posted some pictures showing the leak.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=5404

Basically it leaks constantly from the side flush valve whenever the water pump is on. I couldn't figure out how to get access to anything. There's one small screw visible/accessible, that seems like it might allow release of the shroud around the base, but I pulled the screw and still couldn't get the shroud off, and didn't want to torque on things enough to break the plastic. I could probably get a wrench on the large hex head where the drip is coming from, but without manuals I was concerned about releasing spring tension from the flush valve and having parts go flying...

Any help greatly appreciated...

There are a couple of screws on the side of the flush pedal that allow you
to remove that (two piece) pedal cover and you will have access to the flush valve. (You do not take the shroud off of the base of the toilet)
Once you gain access there are two screws that hold the valve in place. I have changed the valve on my Sealand Traveler 510 and it is a very simple setup. The valve is available at any RV store and you might be able to get a copy of the manual on line. HTH

Jay,

It looks like SeaLand was purchased by Dometic.

Here's a link to the manuals. It takes awhile to load but once it does
Click on Toilets and a whole list pops and there's a couple of Traveler
models listed.

I have a 76 Palm Beach right across the river from you in Vancouver. Here's my two cents worth. You have to remove the old toilet to repair it. You'll spend $50 to $100 to repair it and a new toilet is less than $200 if you shop around. email me if you need some local sources or have further questions. This remove and replace will be also much easier and quicker.

Since you are local, I'd be glad to share my knowledge and experience with you if interested. I've owned a 75 and now a 76 Paln Beach and just love it.

P.S. These coaches tend to leak after 34 years. Especially in our environment, this is important. Most leaks go undetected for a long time because the leak between the inner and outer panels. I can give you some things to look for and tips on re-sealing. Goood luck.

Got it done. Thanks to Dick and Lance and Bob and Rob for advice and links to manuals. Turned out to be a lot easier than I'd anticipated.

Got a replacement valve body from a local RV supply and it really was easy, not counting the awkward position you had to get into to do the job. Best guess is the valve cracked from the short period of sub-freezing weather we had here a month or so ago, and winterizing hadn't included blowing air through the lines after the water was shut off.

I'm finding one of the best things I get from this list is courage to
dig into things I didn't think I could figure out. Thanks immensely for that.

Truer words have seldom been spoken, " one of the best things I get from
this list is courage to
dig into things I didn't think I could figure out."
