After talking to my local AAA office I learned that not all AAA areas provide the same services. Our AAA service is with 'AAA East Central'. After our discussions on towing I thought it might be I good idea to read our 'AAA East Central Guide to Member Services'. On page 9 it states "Dual-wheel campers/motor homes are eligible for all services EXCEPT towing, extricating/winching and tire service" Since this is our reason for having the RV Plus. I contacted the local AAA headquarters to find out about this. I explaned that our GMC has a tag type rear tire system. There response was that our GMC would be covered for all services. I printed this reply and carry it in the GMC.
I would suggest checking the fine print on the coverage you have so there is no problem if you ever need their service.

Jim,
I have a AAA Plus RV membership and also asked the question Ken asked. Your call to the phone # on the back of your card is answered in the AAA area that you call from. If they can not supply assistance with their area's coverage, you need to ask to be forwarded to a supervisor in you home area who will work out a solution for you. If the supervisor can not then you will be instructed to get the assistance you need and forward the receipts to your home office for reimbusment. The reason for this is, for example, the tow trucks that the South Jersey Area have under contract have a weight limit on RVs or 5th wheels. ...though I think it is in excess of 30,000# and we would be helped.
The AAA lady that I talked to told me that on a trip with her 5th wheel she had a problem and limped into a rest area on an interstate highway. When she called GS (that's who she had at the time) they refused service because she was not broke down on the side of the road. She recalled 10 minutes later after she dragged it back out onto the side of the roadway.

One's AAA membership is with a chapter/area that is responsible for covering
the services when within the area of other AAA chapters/areas. The bill
ultimately makes it way back to the originating agency. AAA is actually a
cooperative of independent agencies.
As Jim points out, it's important to get your local club involved if out of
your home territory.
I bought the AAA Plus RV specifically for the GMC.
