Taking the coach out on a 200 mile cruise this weekend and I noticed a tendency for the right front wheel to "hop" with relatively high frequency occasionally. It wasn't continuous like a tire out of balance and didn't seem to come or go with a certain speed.
The torsion bars are set properly and it sits level left to right. Could it be a bad shock? A- Arm bushing?

I vote for a shock. If you are doubt that is the problem, just swap them side to side. If the bug does not move after the shock swap, swap the tires side to side.

in my case, it was torque-hop, and would start when starting a pull , like
going up a hill. this was caused by worn cv joints
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7209
you can switch the drive axels and change the wear patterns, both axles are
the same, and sometimes the problem will go away.
In my case the PO had already done this ;>) so I had to rebuild the cv
joints.

Mine was not sloppy; it was destroyed, no bearings left.

Have you ever replaced the wheel bearings?
I get some wheel hop on the local freeway, not sure if it is the expansion joints you can see through the black top or something else. I did my bearings several years ago, but they only have ~300 miles on them. I plan to check the preload again...

One bolt test instead of 8 lugs. Remove the lower shock mount and exercise the shock by hand to see if has firm even resistance throughout travel. Sometimes the innards come loose and there is like and inch of dead spot in the stroke.

Sir: I believe the stock black Delco shocks were reg shocks, however if a PO has changed to white or yellow ones, they probably are gas assist and should have a fair amount of closing resistance and should extend if not bolted up. If not they are bad.

No, I haven't. I want to watch someone at least once or twice before I watch someone do mine. Volunteers?

Randy, it was one of the first things I did to my coach when I bought it. We can get the tool locally and do yours.

Wheel hop is almost always due to bad shocks. shock absorbers have tha ability to control many different frequencies all the way from ride travel which is about 1 hz to 10-20 hz which is wheel hop frequency. Depending on the wheels an tires you have, i suspect you are feeling 13 hz wheel hop.
