My beloved P.O. installed the Ragusa transmission pan with a temp sensor. The Ragusa pan adds a drain plug, a port for the temp sensor, an extra quart of fluid, and is also supposed to cool the fluid. If I can trust the gauge the fluid in the pan has not exceeded 150 degrees.
The transmission is just another thing I don't worry about. If it were to go out, Manny is only a few minutes away!

Or if you have an extra $185 laying around you can do this:

Never had an issue with it. I keep close check on fluid level and color. Change it every 25k or whenever it is handy.

Regarding how often to change the fluid in the transmission...
I am curious, when do most folks do this?
I have read several opinions on mileage.

Thought there was only one filter (Fram FT-1019 or Wix 58882)
Can you tell me more about the internal one?
Part number, etc

I learned from Alonzo, our technician about the value of an external
in line filter.
Make sure it is for transmission.
He told me that he found out in his class that they showed him how to
use the filter to see what could be happening in the transmission when
you open up that filter.
I'm sure that the restriction in the line was not important enough.
