Is there a preferred method of closing/patching holes hat had been drilled in the roof? I want to remove the old ladder and rails to get a smoother look to the coach, and need to patch the old screw holes.

Should I go out and buy some "Alumalloy"?

Well, One of my PO's decided to remove the storage box and the way they sealed the screw holes was to put duct tape over it.
ALL I CAN SAY is it had not leaked for at least 3 years till I found it.

Ok, some will put the screws back in and put sealant on the screw threads and also over the screw head after they secure the screws.

I have known people to put sillicone in the hole, let it cure and put sealant over that for a more permanent seal.

My SOB looked like swiss cheese in an area of 12" x 12" so I used a product much like Kool Seal ( Kool Seal will do just fine ) and used the cloth for strength. You apply the Kool Seal on the roof, preferably an area not seen at street level, and apply the cloth. Saturate the cloth with Kool Seal, let set the night. The next day you reapply the Kool seal to the cloth. You will do this until the cloth looks like a rubber patch. It will never leak again. That patch when 14 years before I sold it and it wasn't leaking then.

Good luck.

LarC ( A big supporter of Kool Seal as long as it is out of sight, great for keeping the heat out. )

George,
Any good aluminum based filler should work well in filling the holes. Then
sand, fill, sand, prime and paint. If you have holes in the fiberglass a
filler approved for use on corvettes will provide excellent service. If you
going to do it fix it right the first time.
