We've had Dish at home for a few years and it's been trouble free. Never got around to using it on the road yet.

Bob,
Both Direct and Dish provide good service. If you want to use one of the
newer Cube type auto Dish antennas they are not compatible with Direct HD
service. Most of the GMCers I know who have Satellite have Dish for that
reason. You need to check the specification carefully.

Bob, Many uses Direct because you get most all programming on one satellite. Dish uses at least two for most programming, or did. I had Dish and went to Direct so I can use my crankup on the roof and only point at one satellite. You can get a double lnb setup for Dish but harder to aim. I guess it depends on what type antenna you plan to use. Both are same price and offer basically same programming. I prefer Direct for above reasons.

With Dish you can turn the service off when you are not useing it. Directv does not allow you to do that. No point in paying them for the months you are not watching in the coach.

Most people just bring one of their receivers along from home and change
th zip code on the set up.
No new subscription, no additional cost.

I am not interested in turning mine off. I watch it daily. We have both of our receivers registered to the GMC. That way we get both east and west coast network feeds. They charge us, of course, but we love having both time frames to pick from. Dish will also do that for you.

I have DirecTV service in my home and I have an extra receiver in my SOB that I have DirecTV turn on and off whenever I go out with it. Works fine for me and as Dan relates I get all my home channels. Jim

Direct. I like the ability to talk to a human, after the touch tone
drill, that is. I just move the box from the house to the GMC for
traveling and have no problems. I have a KV7 flat antenna on the SOB
and it came with a box. In the past, after a few weeks of storage,
I've had to call Direct to get them to activate the box for the crank
up antennas, not so with the flat antenna for some reason.

Ron,

I don't have a clue! that was in a reply from Steve Ferguson, my guess it is a type of antenna that receives satellite and other signals??

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime and explain it.

Thanks

It is. Just kidding. I took the lowest internet price I could find
to my local RV supply place and they beat it. He told me that in
order to beat the price, he sold it to me for $25 over his cost.
He has been very supportive for the three rallys we have hosted in
Benson, AZ. I just picked up a "Swift Hitch" wireless color,
magnetic camera and monitor from him for $110.00. Fantastic
resolution. I used it for the first time yeater, attached the camera
to the chassis of of neighbors 4x4 to troubleshoot a front end problem
while in motion. I was afraid the camera would fall off and get run
over butit has a pretty strong magnetic base.

We use Direct at home. I just learned that my MAC pc system cannot record from Direct Brand TVO but supposedly can from Dish and after market TVO systems.

It's a bit confusing on the price.

On the KLH specifications page the MSRP is listed at $2995
butt PPL is selling for $ 3499 and stating that it sells regularly for $3999. ??????
