I saw that one in the shop when I was there in September. They said it was
used at the GM Tech Center. If I remember right, GM was having them restore
it (My memory is a little hazy on that part though). It was setup inside
with seats everywhere like a shuttle van. The big windows were really cool.

Sorry Jay, I should have taken a couple more pictures of that one. As I remember, all the seats were facing curbside. I kinda thought it would really limit any future use. You may want to try calling them again, I believe they're pretty busy for the immediate future, so they should be there.

That may be the one used by design staff to review vehicle "bucks" staged on the patio. They used it during inclement weather and would drive past the models. The last time I saw it, it was in a lot better shape than that one appears to be. We had lots of GMC's in various facilities. Both proving grounds had a couple of relatively stock units that we used for ride trips (staging refeshments and pit stop) and we also had one or two that were Transmodes used for telemtry on the track.

That's the one--last time I saw it in 1996 it still looked great!

It's got the same orange stripe below the belt as they put on mine--that one's a bit crooked in the front though:)

The GM GMC at Cinnabar (on the left) has the steering wheel on the left so the photo is not reversed, but the front "GMC" emblem appears to me to be reversed, a mirror image.

Check it out :^)
