Hello all,

I replaced both my sending units while the tanks were out but I have discovered a leak at the seal in one of them. Now that I'm working through a hole in the floor, I figure the removal tool will be much simpler to use as opposed to trying monkey around with angling a screwdriver or punch with little to no clearance. Anyway, glad I discovered the issue before I laid my nice new flooring down...

Anyone able to guide me to a source for the "special tool"?

Cheers,

Shawn

Search Kent Moore fuel sender wrench. They did most of the GM “J” tools. Also use the gaskets with the cutout reliefs and tabs so they don’t shift as easy as the plain ones.

Thanks John.

Unfortunately that didn't really narrow it down too much. KM made quite a few of these and I'm unable to clarify which part number is a fit for our coaches.

I'll keep hunting I guess.

Shawn,
The tool that you are after is a Kent Moore J-24187 fuel sender ring wrench. I have attached several pictures.

They are hard to find sometimes, you will need to do a search on eBay. I got mine there and have used it multiple times on fuel tank rebuilds.
I found this one just now.

Perfect! Thanks J.R. I’ve put in a few offers on ebay. Much appreciated.

Shawn.
