I wired it so it will only come on with the ignition switch in the on
position.  I only use it for starting or if I suspect vapor lock. I use
a guarded toggle switch with a red indicator light built in.  I also
wired a rollover switch from a Ford/Mazda pickup. If I am unfortunate
enough to get hit while it is on the switch will turn the pump off.

Any Ford Ranger or Mazda equivalent in the men's mall will work. Usually
about $5.00.  Passengers side, on the inside firewall.
