I just heard this devastating news yesterday when we got got back to civilization after a few days of dry camping (one of Dan's favorite things) in Joshua Tree NP. I can't tell you how shocked I was to hear of his passing. Dan and I had emailed several times per week until recently when my last 3 or 4 emails went unanswered. I told my wife I was worried because that was unlike Dan to not answer an email. I considered Dan one of my best friends, even though we lived almost 1500 m miles apart and only got together on somewhat rare occasions. He was one of the finest men I have ever known and his death will be as profound to me as my father's death was about 10 years ago. Like Teri' I am "rejoicing through tears" that his suffering is over and am secure in the knowledge that he is now with his Lord.

Rob,
Made a contribution, but didn't see the special instructions. Used Paypal. Maybe just didn't see what you saw. Still, feel better knowing I helped a little with something Dan loved. The least we can do.

Carey, the 'special instructions' is easy to miss on the summary page but it's there. I almost missed it. I'd suggest you email the lady at the camp and just let her know that your donation was in memory of Dan Gregg.
