To Dans' Family,

I'm very sorry to read this news, that he didn't win the fight.
Even though we never meet, I knew he had to be a great person.
I looked forward to seeing rally photos, reading his Blog, and his entries in the forum, etc.

Our condolences to the family.

Does anyone have any funeral information?

I do not want to telephone Teri and bother her if the information has already been released.

Ken,
What City did Dan and Teri live in? I can then search the funeral homes in that area for the obit.

Dan lived in Dexter, MO which is on Hwy 60 in SE MO, about 15 miles east of Sikeston, MO which is on I-55.

Here is the funeral home that was indicated in the newspaper obit:

I tried that with no luck, but please give it a try again.

Dexter, Missouri

My other problem is I do not know if that is where he was when he died or when he died.

He was going to Tulsa bi-weekly for chemo but we had the holiday that might have changed the schedule. To my knowledge, he was scheduled to go in last Friday. I do not know if he went last week because I lost contact with him at the beginning of the week. He almost always sent me a note as he was leaving for the hospital and usually another note while he was getting treatments. I had no communication with him all of last week so I'm in the dark on this.

I just talked to the funeral home. They have not put up anything yet. They are waiting on the family to finalize an obituary. The current schedule with them is Visitation on Thursday at 5 PM to 8 PM. at the funeral home. The Funeral will be on Friday at 10 AM at the Church of Christ in Dexter.

You still need to check their web site in case something changes.

I received a telephone call from Teri Gregg this morning. She indicated that she is holding up all right. She had been preparing for his death for some time and has family around to support her. She said she would send me information on Dan's obit and funeral this evening and asked me to coordinate getting the word out to the GMC net and others.

I'll post back when I have more information.

The obituary is now posted by the funeral home. Look on the left as well

Dan was one of the folks on here I actually got to meet and he was just as great and positive in person as he was on-line. I wish I was closer to Missouri and could join in a line of coaches in his honor.

Emery,

Since I have to send a check from Australia I decided to see if I could contribute to the Bootheel Camp in memory of Dan and I did a
bit of poking around and found a link to Bootheel's website where you can make a contribution via credit card or Pay Pal.

http://www.bootheelyouthcamp.com/

I called Laura Tessons (Secretary / Treasurer) and had a chat with her. She noted that the website hadn't been updated for 2015 yet
and that the cabin campaign has been completed and they are now collecting funds to refurbish / update the 40 year old swimming pool
at the camp. She also mentioned to me that she had had conversations with Teri and Dan in which they wanted contributions to help
kids that couldn't afford to go. Either way donations will help a worthy cause!

To contribute using a credit card or Pay Pal click on Donate under the contributions thermometer; that will open a page where you
can fill in your credit card details or log onto Pay Pal.

The last step in making a contribution via Pay Pal or a Credit Card is to review and confirm the transaction. On that page you will
find "Special Instructions." If you click on those words you will be able to enter the following; "Contribution made in the name of
Dan Gregg."

I hereby issue a challenge to all the GMCer's that knew and loved Dan to dig deep and show how much he meant to us!

Regards,
Rob M.

The obituary is online and includes a guestbook where you can send a note to Teri and family. Cards or flowers can be sent from here as well.
