Do a Goggle search on "ethanol brass floats" and you will find many articles about ethanol eattin brass floats. One even suggests paying the float with a polyurethane paint to protect it.

Those of you with carbs will likely see more problems with this as time goes on.

Automatic spell changer really went wild with my last message. Even my last name. And with my recent eye surgery I didn't spot the changes it made. It corrected my distant vision but I'll need reading glasses for close up on fine print such as my Iphone. Just waiting for. 30 days to go by so the eyes stabilize.

Then don't miss the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, OK.

Just after you pass Hydro, OK look for the restored (but inactive) Lucille's gas station and store on the north side of I-44.

I think you can drive to Lucille's if you get off I-44 at the Hydro exit. Old 66 comes into the town directly about a mile to the north, but then swings south and goes parallel to I-44. I'm not sure where 66 actually rejoins I-44, but a "good" GPS should show it.

You CAN turn off the automatic spell changer! Then supposedly misspelled words will be underlined in red and you can change to a suggested spelling OR add your spelling to your individual dictionary.

I'm about to replace those mounts for my Cad500 because of that occasional

There are mountains here. Pretty. Warm and sunny. With my wonderful wife
enjoying each moment.
We should know what is wrong in the next couple hours. I still think it has
to do with the torque convertor and or flex plate. A lot cheaper than a
engine bearing

Dwayne, as long as you have a wonderful wife that is happy, most of your battle is won. I have been fortunate to have the same wonderful type best friend beside me each time a major problem has arisen. Keep us informed, if you can. I am resting in our coach as I type. Very hot in Missouri today.

Waiting for a tow to another garage in Ogden utah. They will pull the pan
and inspect the bearing and crank. So we'll have a brief holiday here in
Utah.
Any gmc owners around.

Not that simple on the GMC motorhome. They have to pull the transmission first to get to the pan. Then they have to raise the engine some in order to get the pan off.
A fairly big job and labor is going to be a lot of money.

Dwayne

You're getting more than your fair share of experience at shops working on
your GMC. Please, while you're kickin rocks, think about sharing your
experiences with those that follow on the Service Comments list at
http://www.bdub.net/GMCServiceComments.pdf. Contribute to it by emailing
bdub@bdub.net with subject "Addition for the GMC Service Comments List".

Same for everyone who wants to make their "adventure" with a shop count for
something more. It's meant to be a guide for those that follow.

Sorry for your over abundance of adventure this summer. They probably
averted catastrophe.

Thanks

Hi - when you get to the L.A. area, if you have time, the Autry Western Heritage Museum has this display.

To add to the information overload, here is info I copied from the current issue of Hot Rod magazine.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6622-rte-66-info.html

AND if you are interested in all things Bugatti, visit the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard. www.mullinautomotivemuseum.com. And close by is the Murphy Automotive Museum, that has Packards.

The Coleman Theater in Miami, OK is another great restored theater. It has had its original "Mighty Wurlitzer" pipe organ located, purchased, reinstalled, and restored. One of its recent performances was by Bob Heil, the designer and builder of some of the best microphones in the world with collaboration by Joe Walsh of "The Eagles."

Google "Coleman Theater" for lots more info.

Tonight the rolling rally is in Santa Fe, NM It is Happy hour here. Present
are the Hupy's, The St.Clair's, the Smith's, the Harper's, the Guttman's,
the Gregory's, the Paradis's, with their Austrailian Friends, the
Parmenter"s, the Boyds, the Williamson's who just departed for home. 10
coaches in all. Tonight we will do a pot luck dinner outside. Here for two
nights and then it is off to Gallup, NM and then West until our hats float
at Santa Monica, Ca. The end of the route is within striking distance. This
morning at Santa Rosa, NM we visited a sink hole known locally as the "Blue
Hole" One of our group jumped into it with their glasses on, which sank to
the bottom of an 81 deep pool. Unbeliveably, there were some scuba divers
in the pool, who were encouraged to retrieve them. After a 1/2 hour or so,
up he came with the glasses. Hooo Rahhh. We climbed in altitude most of the
day, and are currently at about 7500 feel elevation. My coach was being
cranky with the heat and altitude, but we all arrived safely. Tomorrow will
be a down day, shopping, laundry, maintence, etc. All for now.

Been there and I agree. Great place. I tried to convince the group to go
tonight but they wanted pot luck. We had pork chops, chicken, taco salad,
polenta, baked scalloped potatoes, and much more. We eat very well on the
road. They are cooking S'mores right now for dessert.

Nice group. Nobody goes hungry and no complaints about the food. Too bad
you're getting so near the end of your trip.

Good day:
I hope the rally is continuing to go well. I am a new member of the GMCnet, and have been enjoying following your progress on the Route 66. I live one block from Route 66 in LA (West Hollywood specifically) and was hoping to see you all driving through town. 66 is the main street (Santa Monica Blvd) through our small city. When you get to LA will you be taking the local freeways, or continuing your adventure on 66 all the way to the ocean? It would be nice to see you all and your coaches.
Regards
