I had very positive experiences with AAA a couple years ago.
In my first 1000 miles on my coach, I had several opportunities to call AAA. I used up my four-tow quota in the first four months, in fact (add a family member to your policy and you get eight for far less than twice the price, btw).
In my four tows (two lowboys, two bars under the frame), they were able to arrange service for me three times. Once I had to call the service myself, and send AAA the bill (~$850) which was repaid within a week.
I'm sure they are almost as happy (in a corporate way) as I am that I haven't needed any tows for the next 9000 miles, so far.

My similar tow after Shawnee to a repair facility was less than 10 miles but the guy running the truck wrecker did a highly professional job. I aired up the bags to reduce the angle between coach and pavement and maximize clearance at the bumper

Just dropped the coach off at Ken's for its 2 week slumber while Ken is off having fun at Branson.
I will write up a detailed report tonight or tomorrow. Lots of lessons learned and we learned firsthand how freaking awesome our GMC community really is and how terrible AllState is.
On the way home in the rental car and back to slaying the dragon to pay for this weekend of "fun"...
Our "MPG" was insanely high this weekend. ;-)

I'll go into a bit more detail later on but it's amazing how similar power steering fluid and oil look at 11pm on the side of a highway with a busted belt after also having just been dead on the side of the road for 3 hours with a bad battery wire to the distributor.
Found a great mobile mechanic to help get us get rolling again.
Assumed the worst at the time and definitely made several poor choices but always erred on the side of caution. Probably too much so but we're still newbies.
Will write up everything later.
Thanks again for everyone's help.

What was the large puddle of "oii", and what did he do to replenish it and make sure it didn't leak out again before he gets to Ken's?

Jared,
I am glad to hear that you, Stefanie, and your GMC are OK. I'm sure having Ken go over it you will get it back in a lot better
shape. When I first bought Double Trouble I had him "fix anything that could KILL us or leave us standing by the side of the road."
And he did that very well.
Regards,
Rob M.

Ken is indeed a great cook. We had a GMC Colonial Travelers rally with Ken & Janet the hosts this last weekend, the fun and eats never slowed. I was on my way home with about 15 miles to go when my phone rang with a message that someone was having difficulty further down I-84. Hurried home, got some tools and headed for the Kohls GMC. Got lucky and found 2 corroded connections before we got a solid voltage to the distributor.
Too bad they broke a belt later, hope they will be able to look back on the troubles that day and smile at the experience.
