I'd suggest folks just post in this thread if they want to reserve one for
Coos Bay or Branson and Kelvin and I can pick them up from this thread.
I've only made 45 but can probably find time to make more if demand is
sufficient.

K.I.S.S. Translated means [ Keep it simple, stupid]. It is not necessarily
an insult, intended to be pointed at anyone, but if it fits, Sometimes we
get frustrated with trying to explain something that is obvious to us
because we deal with the subject every day, and really forget that some
people have not heard the acronyn or use it in everyday conversation, along
with many, many others which may be interpreted as abrupt or offputting. I
am known as a smartass, off the cuff, type of guy. Probably brought on by
all the years that I worked in a Correctional Facility trying to teach a
technical skill set to non technical people. I know in my case it tends to
offend some otherwise nice people who have never been exposed to comments
like these. Please do not take it seriously, as it was not intended to
insult. If I ever do insult you for real, you will not have any lingering
questions in your mind like, Gee, I wonder what he meant by that? (VERY BIG
GRIN)

Should add here that I was speaking for myself here, not Kerry. A footnote:
sometimes the KISS footnote is attached to a very simple solution to a
problem everyone must have had at one time or another, like," Where the
heck do I put my very expensive DVM when I am trying to read battery
voltage at the isolator or coach batteries down inside the front hatch?"
When we see Kerry's shelf, and ask ourselves the question, "Why the heck
didn't I think of that solution, it is so simple and elegant ?" ergo:KISS.

There is a large sign in most software shops that says "Remember the K.I.S.S. Principal".

It is a constant reminder to write software (or build things), as simple as possible to do the job. If someone wrote code that it took me an hour just to figure out how the heck they were doing something, they were probably going get a butt chewing and sometime during the discussion, they'd hear KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!

Simple works. Make things as complex as they have to be but no more.

Over complexity is the bane of most modern products from automobiles, to televisions, to you name it.

No insults intended and if there were, it would be directed at me since I came up with them. Shocked Laughing

Kerry,

Jeez with the number of KISS shelves being ordered you might have to sub contract their manufacture to China

Nah, they're too complex for them to get them right! ;-)

Kelvin is still on board. the only reason to send a check or do Paypal is if you want it mailed. I'm shipping 30 shelves to Kelvin today. That's all I have time to make. If he sells out, folks can send me a check or paypal.

Far as I know. I hope so, I've just shipped the KISS shelves to his business address.

His emails are being returned but we traded emails on the 7th (Saturday) and everything was a go. He went to a wooden boat thing this weekend. I've sent him a facebook PM.

I'll be there to hand out Kerry's sheets of silver in exchange for your
sheets of green.

I don't read GMC mail while on vacation. Downloading all of it is time
consuming via cellphone modem.
This will prove to be a problem if I ever have a GMC problem while on
vacation, of course.
