Bob,

I believe Bert and Faye make a fiberglass insert for the rear window.

Welcome back!

Bert and Fay did make a fiberglass cover. Manny has one I believe. I don't know anyone else with one but I suspect they can still make one for you Bob.
Even though we continued to communicate, Teri and I are tickled that you will again be trying to negotiate that driveway. And, coming up with great mods, like the 12 volt cutoff for the furnace that we have. You are a great guy. A very big smile came on my face when I saw your post about the GMC.

Bob,

I'm going to disagree with Steve, the reason being is that on a number of
occasions we have backed into parking spots that provided FANTASTIC views
through the rear window.

The Avion has a pull out table in the top of the rear dresser that we would
sit at and enjoy breakfast looking at the view.

Thanks Charles for the uplifting comment. I was diagnosed in 2001 so I just had my 10 year celebration. Mine is called Multiple Myeloma and at present there is no cure. My first Oncologist told me 3 to 5 years max. However, the research docs keep coming with new drugs and cocktails that keep us going. I think the odds are good I will die of old age.

This would be my third, unless we count the Monaco Dynasty, which would make it fourth.

Drs said I would never walk without a walker, never drive a big truck again, and would certainly never ride a motorcycle again. Well I didn`t listen, I never used a clutch in the big trucks anyway, and by crossing different Harley year parts I used a tank shifter with a hand clutch and don`t lean to the left when I stop. As for walking I do kinda look like a duck on drugs, but it works for me. I consider the GMC as therapy cause there is always something to do tomorrow. By the way I got a rear glass if we could figure out a way to get it to you.

G'day,

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Chuck and his bride
Cathy I ga-ron-tee you're going to enjoy it when you do.

Chuck is one of those people who; went life throws lemons at, makes
lemonade!

There one problem with him, he sees something that needs fixin' on your GMC
and before you know he's into it! It's embarrassing; you stand there while
he does the work!

Thanks Charles. Takes one to know one. I like your life solutions. Rather than say, "Well, guess I can't do that again", you said, "OK, this is how it is, now how do I go on from here?

Funny you should mention "therapy". When I had my 77 there were months on end when I just felt like crap due to the chemo and steroids. I didn't feel like doing anything but to get up and go out and work on something on the coach for an hour or so, kind of kept me going. I did nickname it my therapy coach and even got written up in some cancel journal when an editor heard my story.

Nice of you to offer the glass. I would rather have the glass than fill the hole with something else. In the past I have seen things get shipped across the country or from south to north, etc by catching rides with GMCers heading out to rallies. I think the other alternative is to ship it freight. But it would probably be a bear to pack. Maybe it could be shipped between two pieces of 1/4" plywood or something like that. Maybe someone else has already figured out how to ship it and will chime in to educate us.

Hang in there.

Bob

OK, I figured out what Goshen meant.

Anyone from the west coast going to Goshen who would like to carry a rear glass back home, whose final destination is in the San Diego area?

Welcome Back Bob.

If you can't get the glass from Chuck to San Diego you might check with Miguel Mendez at MGM_GMC. I think he had one in his shop the last time I was there.

Bob, It’s so good to see you back on the forum. Every time I drive by Mt. Helix I throw up a quick prayer for you. You’re presence here is an answer to my prayers! I hope that we can get together soon so you can show off your new PB. I loved your Kingsley, so it will be hard to beat!
Take care and God bless! Jerry
