of work for the rad to do....
So to take some of the strain off of the radiator has anyone figured out
where to put some of these 'coolers' other than in front of the
radiator....maybe combined with an electric fan???
Just askin' !

I believe you are correct. It is a wonder any air is left for the engine. No wonder the fan clutch has to come one... it needs to pull air though a maze.
I just installed an engine oil cooler. It is to the right of the air conditioning dryer, basically in front of the grill in front of the batteries. I am a little ashamed of the bracket I made, but it is sort of an experiment. The oil goes through this cooler and then into the radiator. I did it that way to 1) give the radiator a small break and 2) to keep the engine oil from getting to cool in cool weather. We are heading Oregon way, and I figure it will probably be 950 degrees in Redding, CA. The climb up to Grant's pass, Oregon will test the theory.
