Yes, there is a chance that the bolt broke when someone tried to adjust the
front ride height without using a torsion bar unloader tool. There is one
heck of a lot of tension on these bars. The good part is that even if the
bolt is sheared off, you can remove the captive nut in the crossmember,
extract the broken piece or replace the captive nut assy. It is pictured
quite clearly in the GMC manual. Check the pork chop carefully for adverse
wear from being run with no bolt. They are also available. Hope this helps.
