Because they have a modular structure that makes it easy to unbolt all the honda-specific
mounting sub-structure and end up with a nice seat with a flat place to bolt to other bases just
under the seat. They also have really nice slides, though I ended up removing those so
I could use power slides.
I first picked up some Chrysler Town and Country captain's seats that I intended to use,
but after getting them home, realized it was going to be really tough to do. They're
made in such a way that if you remove the bottom mounting system, you'd have to get creative
to mount them. They have a tubular welded frame, not bolted like the hondas, and no slides.
You could bolt them to a plate with a slot to hook into like the original mounting, but they'd be
too tall if you put that on swivels and slides.
If anybody has another use for a pair of tan leather Town and Country seats though, they're free...
