What surprised me about them is they went into Chapter 11 in Late 2008. I always thought they were doing great. Then last year (2009) Pilot took them over. I assume Pilot assumed their debt and got the company for next to nothing. They were the largest retailer of Diesel in the country. It appears that Pilot is going to continue to operate Flying J as a stand alone subsidiary.
