Be careful, the generator light should never be on when the engine is
running. the light should only be on if the alternator is not running /
broken. there is also a fuse that will cause the light to come on. read
here and see if this helps.

Your batteries should not loose fluid, it sounds like you might still have
the old Buzz box charger, and you might want to change that out. Read
