Wayne,

I can't make it through the night without making a couple of trips to the
loo so I wanted a rear twin.

IIRC the dimensions of the rear double beds is 52-54 inches front to rear
and the full width of the coach.

Can you increase that dimension? Not without major internal renovation. You
can extend the rear of the coach which creates another set problems.

The rear twin models that I am aware of have the following dimensions;

Avion: 75 x 32
Edgemont: 77 x 34
Royale: 74 x 32

I am 73 1/2" tall and I sleep OK on in my Avions, however, when John Sharpe
was kind enough to loan me his Royal to sleep in while I was working on my
Avion in Houston I found I didn't sleep as well. One inch made a difference.

The funny thing about the Edgemont is that none of the documentation shows
that the beds were longer! I PERSONALLY verified the length of an Edgemont
twin at Michael Bozardt's shop in Houston. That Edgemont is for sale I
believe. Here's a link to his website:

Good luck with your search.

Subject: [GMCnet] Rear beds

Due to a number of personal reasons we have narrowed our MH search to a
model with twin rear beds. Looking at the floorplans, is it possible to
reconfigure a rear queen to two twins? It appears that the size of the area
is the same and it would be a matter of rebuilding the floor layout. Am I
wrong? Are there other hidden things under the floor that might interfere?

We have been looking for a couple of years and gathering info and with
retirement a couple of years away it is now time to buy and adapt it to our
needs. There are some nice units out there but they are rear queen setups
and that will not work for us. I really like the Royales but most seem to
be a rear bath. There is a 77 Palm Beach in my price range that has
possibilities but the rear bed configuration is the only issue.

Has anyone done such a change that can elaborate on the pitfalls?

Thanks
