There are some that say;

three days is not enough for the enzymes, (never formaldehyde),
chemicals,etc to do any good any way. Especially if the temperature is
cooler than about 60 deg. F.

better to use a scented additive to the tank to control the smell, and not
worry about trying to digest the material until it is out of the black tank.

when you layup the GMC, use a digesting additive for the last fill just so
the little buggers can work while you are gone.

Maybe some chemist can comment on this procedure.
