Larry,
I have the Pertronix 1181LS and purchased the Flame-Thrower coil at your suggestion for an otherwise stock 1973 engine. After having Wally Anderson help me address the timing issue that you uncovered at the Chippewa Falls convention my coach has been running like a top. Do you think there is any reason to revisit my coil in the absence of any obvious problem?

Hi Doug, So good to hear from you. It is possible that my experience with the Petronix coil is an anomaly. I seem to attract those kinds of things. You could carry another 12v Delco coil and the tools to change it out with you just in case. But since you are not running an EFI which can be sensitive to excessive ignition noise, IMO, you are less likely to experience the issues that I did.

OH, and a shout out to Wally for giving you a hand with your timing issue. Glad to hear it is running so well and you two are enjoying the many benefits of our GMC's. Hope to see you at a future rally.
