Yes, it was almost an international and it didn't lack for Kim's attention at all.

With only about 80 coaches and about 130 people, it was smaller than many but did not lack. What was grand was the 30% first timers. That meant that there were a lot of new faces to meet.

But, you know, without none of our Canadian friends, either of the Kens, no Emery and JimK only on the screen, it was just lacking something. We still are glad we went. This may have been the first time we didn't win anything, but that just not important. We went through Chicago in the morning traffic and it was still bad, but we mad it.

About 20 minutes ago, we crossed into Indiana on I-94. We are pointed toward home. We have a planned stop in Portage Michigan to buy fuel at the Sam's club there, and then it is run for the barn time.

Yes it was a different kind of rally, with the absence of the Canadians, Dave & Mary L (but they did make an appearance via internet), Ken H., Emery, Ken & Janet, Ken & Laurie etc. But it didn't disappoint. The tour, dinner and show at the historic Mabel Tainter Center that Larry & Lucy arranged was very interesting and fun.

I stayed an extra day in order to revisit (from 7 years ago) the Irvine park/zoo, Jacob Leinenkugel brewery and the Chippewa Falls Museum of Industry and Technology. I was the only visitor and had a really nice tour of that facility. For a small town in the middle of Wisconsin, Chippewa Falls has a lot to offer. I still marvel at Seymour Cray's super computers doubling as furniture.

On the way back I ran into Sonya & Terry N. in a rest area on US2 not far from St. Ignace. We spent a few minutes discussing how to improve the look of my '76PB. Their PB really looks nice.

I'm not quite home yet as I spending a few days to winterize and otherwise get ready for winter our place near Mackinaw City.
