Tom,

I'm one of the few running a serpentine belt in a GMCMH, and perhaps the
last surviving one to have run it on both an Olds 455 and a Cad500 -- my
current setup. With that being said, I can't offer you much good advice
except this link to a long-ago thread on the subject:
https://groups.google.com/g/gmcnet-archive/c/Il2HfQMqCps?pli=1

While looking for that link, I did run across this which looks worth
studying more:
https://pacificgbody.com/blogs/shop/oldsmobile-serpentine-conversion

One thing I caution you about serpentines: Most of the setups for the 455
wind up running the water pump on the back of the serpentine belt -- that
means it runs in reverse. That caused some users of the Leigh Harrison
(who's deceased) system to have overheating problems. A lot of us
tried modifying OEM pumps to improve the reverse flow and Leigh spent a lot
of time and money designing, prototyping, and setting up production for a
true reverse-flow pump. Only then did someone tell us about such a pump
from some model of Olds Diesel engine (I can't tell you more than that).
The point of all that is to tell you that if I were trying to design a
serpentine belt system for the 455, I'd start by trying to design a 2-belt
system similar to what I've designed and run for 5+ years on my Cad500.

You CAN find kits, but they won't be cheap.
