As to hot starts, if your tests, suggested by Ken Burton, show a drop between the starter & the battery, I suggest using Gene Fisher's idea of running a new cable directly from the battery to the starter. Remove the starter end of the cable that runs from the boost switch tie point to the starter, and connect it to the battery. I use a dual terminal battery to make this easier.
