Will - I believe that is the format 2k had in mind based on his examples. I belong to multiple forums and like the bbs format. Starting one for the GMC community would be difficult if not impossible. You have the problem of archiving info from many sources if the authors agree as stated in other posts.
Now the "physical" part.
First the bbs software is free but you have other costs involved; i.e. hosting (even unlimited storage is not unlimited), bandwidth, SECURITY, gallery software...etc.) You know the drill. All cost dollars. It would be a full time job and at 72 I'm not interested. I host private websites and have cut back to only enough to pay for my sites. I no longer do webdesign. Hell, I haven't even kept up with updating my sites and pretty much use them for image storage and email addresses. My own personal cloud.

Bottom line, I've adjusted to this format and can live with its quirks. But, if another format should appear I'll adjust. I prefer working on and using my GMC rather than sitting at a desk and getting fat(ter).
