My carter 4070 put out 6 psi, but it still lifted the needle on the float, I had to put on a regulator and knock it down to 4 psi.

Is this still true if you have a Mech fuel pump that has a bypass to return fuel to the tanks if it has too much???
I have an Electric fuel pump to prime the system if needed and a mech fuel pump with the bypass on the engine.....
