The Series 40 is the standard Flowmaster hot-rod muffler, a bit shorter
than the Series 70 we usually use, as I recall, and louder. I have a pair
of an "alternative brand" version of the Series 40 (Dynomax), and they have
worked fine. Only ones I could get to fit in front of the existing Y-pipe,
which I have still never needed to change.
