Virgil,

If the fuel hoses on the top of the tanks have not been replaced, replace them with new material now.
Advice: If you do take the tanks down and you are working alone, take the fill pipe down first and put it up last.
Also, look up "recommending high Tee 29 July 2012" and "Lifting fuel tanks when alone Jun 27, 2012"
Both may save you from having to repeat my hard won lessons.

I am going to be installing a Digipanel because my wife drives a lot of the daylight driving and this will alarm even without the driver's attention.
Digipanels are not favored by some because they use the OE sensors for some inputs, this does make installation more simple.

Read what I wrote for Paul about teflon tape on bleed screws.

My rear wheel bearing have always come off inside the journal and seal.

I hope you have a boring time of all this.

Matt

Hi all, I finally have the time and all the parts have arrived - the 1976 23-ft Birchaven w/ 455 and rear bath is up and blocked. Did pass DEQ here in OR in Feb. Live in Lake Oswego, OR

Have read through all the documentation and started working from front to rear: installed master cylinder, removed Dana compressor, removing proportional valve

As I go about my renovation process - any specific order recommended or to do in conjunction as I work my way out from front to rear and interior frame to outside?

have the following items:
master cylinder and proportion valve,
removed Dana compressor
putting Viair compressor on Dana mount
Reaction arm system
quad bags and pack rear bearings, bogie pin greaser kit,and quad bags and pack rear bearings, bogie pin greaser kit,
SS brake hose replacement for front and rear brakes,
rear drum brake shoes & wheel cylinder for intermediate and rear drum brakes,
Albert's emergency brake upgrade,
foam fire extinguisher in engine compartment.

I may drop the fuel tanks and check the fuel hose condition and supply lines while it is up as there are 54000 miles on the Aluminum Falcon. Have installed RAMCO mirrors and looking at the electrical main lines within - buzz box replacement, may install solar so 2/0 instead of the 12 g to rear compartment w/ 4KW Onan.

Presently, I have the rig up on jack stands ready to go.
have installed the master cylinder and getting the proportion valve installed. then on to the SS hose replacements for the front wheels and work to the rear and the emergency brake upgrade and reaction arm.
I've removed the Dana compressor and am looking for a flange to mount the Viair compressor in the same location (or would it be better to put on passenger side and run the air lines from that location?) I'll have to flare compress joints on some of the brake lines do to frozen nuts, etc. I have the double flaring tools for that.

I have a 6 tire pressure & temp gauge wireless setup for the AL rims and new Mich tires - that already let me know I have to take care of the bearings.

Is that Digi panel instrument set-up recommended?

To remove and repack the rear bearings - any hint on removing the interior bearings for packing? Have labeled so I will not mix up the bearings for where they go.

Thank you all for your words to this newbie,

Virgil
