Sounds complicated. I always have some 1/2" CPVC hanging around. I would get a Sharkbite polybutylene to CPVC connector and a 1/2" male CPVC NPT fitting. Glue the CPVC NPT male fitting to a short stub of CPVC. Stick that in the CPVC end of the PB to CPVC Sharkbite and there's the Poly-B to 1/2" NPT male you need.
