Ken / Dolph,

I understand how a transformer will work to step down the voltage, however, I don't understand how a UPS will work to accomplish the
same.

I did some homework and read some info and watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5RKBWhEUAU but I still don't
understand how a UPS would step down the voltage.

I did find this PW9125-PPDM-6K on eBay:

Rob,

The truth is that these are too simple for you to not understand.
They are:
A big honkin battery charge,
A stack of batteries,
A big honkin inverter.....
And that is all.

The one I was supposed to take care of had input taps so it could be matched to what ever the input voltage actually was. (I was supposed to monitor this.)
I retrospect, This was not as good as the buzz box that we have come to know and hate.

The batteries were batteries and needed water almost constantly.

The inverter was a primordial semiconductor device. Was nearly good sinusoidal output because it had a transformer that was HUGE.

The reason this could work for you is that the input gets made into DC. It doesn't really matter what it smells like. If it is AC, Good Enough.

Matt
