Clarence Buskirk stretched them "correctly." He added 3' but moved the bogies back so that the stretch was in between the front and
rear wheels not hanging out over the ass end.

I've seen a bunch of 2 and 3' stretches done that way. Any more and you get handling/traction problems...plus it looks 'off' imo.
But then, some folks think Kartrasian is attractive... :o
