The insulated flexible line IS WAY easier to install; you don't have to remove the carb; been there, done both.

Carb bolt torque of 9 ft lb is a bit low; MM X-7525 page 6A-66 - TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS calls for 15 ft lb.

USE A TORQUE WRENCH; if you don't you risk warping the carb air horn (top most part).

Go here and scroll down for the fuel pump to carb line -- both an insulated version and steel. The insulated may be easier to
install.
With the steel, I take out the four bolts holding the carb so I have more wiggle room -- after the line is finger tight I re install
the bolts and snug up the fuel line. The carb bolts are low torque -- I use nine 9 ft lbs.
