Pete,
I would use just a very small dab of Dielectric Grease on the moving parts inside the switch. More is NOT better! Most of the chain Autoparts stores carry it.
This would be enough to grease 50 switches. I use the stuff on all electrical connections, bulbs, and etc. I get the large size for what I use it for.
And There is a pressurized can available too.
You can also use CRC 2-26 Multi-Purpose Lubricant instead of the grease.
As for cleaning the switches and other elctrical items I have used CRC Lectric Clean.
And to clean Switch and relay contacts and variable resistors I have used this. You can get it online or Radio Shack also carries it.
