End of the history trail.

I spoke with Max Purdy who worked with Buskirk for years. It was built before his time but he remembered the coach and the Veitja's (Vjays). He remembered that they had lots of problems with the EFI. He also said that the motor would have been completely rebuilt before Buskirk put it in which means it has about 60K miles on it now. He was pretty sure that Buskirk would have painted it with the 78 color scheme since they did that sort of thing. He also said that even in the 80's folks were putting the Caddys in coaches. He did not know if there is a power drive along with the 346 but said it could well be. At 50mph indicated on my speedometer, my son said I was at 57mph and I was about 3000-3100 rpm which means either the tach is wrong or it has more than just a 3.42 diff. (I discovered yesterday that my gas pedal linkage was bent and only opening the throttle plates 1/2 way...and I thought it was strong before... Shocked Shocked Shocked )

He told me some history of the company after Rick Rush Sr bought it and shortly thereafter died. He said that Rick Jr had no interest in the business and, other than some bumper halves that went to Cinnabar, all the inventory including some stretch frame rails were just sold for scrap. All records were destroyed and the family has no interest in discussing GMC anything.

Based on Bob's comment, I called Cinnabar and when I explained I was intrested in information about a coach built by Buskirk prior to their relationship with Cinnabar. I was told quite tersely that Cinnabar never had a relationship with Buskirk and they had no information about any of his coaches.

So that's the end of the line, history wise.
